As part of Mountain Humane’s Access to Care program, we offer emergency veterinary teletriage through VetTriage for pet owners living in the Wood River Valley and other communities served by Mountain Humane.

Through a live video consultation, a licensed veterinarian will assess your pet’s condition and help determine whether immediate veterinary care is needed. If an emergency visit is not necessary, you’ll receive guidance on monitoring and caring for your pet at home. If urgent treatment is required, VetTriage will help direct you to an available emergency veterinary provider.

No Cost to Eligible Pet Owners

Thanks to grant funding, one VetTriage consultation per pet concern is provided at no cost to eligible pet owners in Mountain Humane’s service area. This support helps ensure that families can access timely veterinary guidance when faced with an urgent pet health concern. Please note: While the VetTriage consultation is covered by grant funding, any recommended follow-up veterinary care or emergency treatment is the responsibility of the pet owner.

How VetTriage Works

Step 1

To begin your session, complete the registration information or if you are a returning client, login using your email address. After clicking “Continue” you will be directed to our secure client payment portal.

Step 2

After entering our secure payment portal, click Purchase Session. You’ll then see payment options including credit or debit cards, and PayPal. Select your payment method and complete the transaction. All sessions are $50 regardless of duration.

Step 3

After completing payment, click the Request Session button to connect directly with a licensed veterinarian. The doctor will triage your pet’s condition. If there is a medical emergency, they will work to connect you with the closest veterinary ER or on-call veterinarian.
